acdc Snowdon Challengers Hit Their Target!
Written by acdc on July 9, 2012>
Just a quick note to say many thanks to all of you who have kindly sponsored us on our Challenge at the weekend – it was tough, but we achieved it in a time of 7 hours and 17 minutes, achieving an amazing 6th place from 70 teams which entered the challenge, and most importantly, we hit our financial target of £2000 for Regain, thanks to all of you who sponsored us – so well done!
The weather turned out to be ok, and in fact, apart from the top of Snowdon, which was pretty windy and cloudy, it was mainly sunny all day, an amazing turnout considering the recent floods and freak summer weather in the UK. We all worked really well as a team, helping each other out where necessary (especially when my vertigo kicked in on the ridge on the way up to the top of Snowdon), even running down Snowdon at a pretty quick pace!! All in all, we had an incredible experience: 40 Miles cycling, a 10 Mile walk up a bit of a hill and a bit of a canoe round a lake was a walk in the park (my legs are telling me otherwise), but it made a huge difference knowing that we were raising money for a great cause, and that you were all backing us along the way. Once again many, many thanks for your support,
