ACDC BRANCHES OUT TO THE MIDDLE EAST

ACDC’s International Business Development Manager, Ben Fullalove is all set to relocate to Dubai later this year to head up the company’s new regional branch and manage the expected growth from this key territory. In today’s business world, where companies are still struggling with recessionary market conditions, ACDC has grown substantially with strong global sales.  The Middle East accounts for approximately 40% of the company’s turnover and ACDC has an excellent network of local distribution partners across the region.  The opening of a regional office in Dubai will enable further expansion and improved support, generating further sales growth and facilitating improved service and performance.

ACDC has been operating in the region for over 10 years and the regional centre will play a key role as the company continues to manage the numerous and large scale projects along with effectively supporting the company’s business partners. Over the past 3 years, Fullalove has developed a strong international team, capable of delivering ACDC's challenging growth ambitions and the performance over the period has been outstanding.

Ben joined ACDC back in 2008, tasked to challenge new markets whilst pro-actively supporting existing local agents and essentially to grow world market share. His commitment to this is clear; ‘My ambition has always been to evolve the international network at ACDC into a team intimate with the organisation as a whole; the product, the service offering and our philosophy in its entirety, the expansion plans and proximity to these stakeholders, is essential in nurturing this goal. The success of ACDC has been significantly influenced by our approach to the market - offering support at all levels of the supply process from aiding designers at concept stage through to project specification and ultimately delivery and install of a superb product’.

Louise Frankland, ACDC Sales and Marketing Director comments; “increasing our presence in the Middle East is the obvious next step, having developed so well over recent times and Ben has been a major force in delivering this growth. We have every confidence in his ability to make this a success, and continuing to deliver ACDC's vision for the future.”

The International Team are currently working on an array of prestigious projects in the Middle East, including the Heydar Aliyev Cultural Centre in Azerbaijan, Avenues in Kuwait and Presidential Flight in Abu Dhabi,.

Heydar Aliyev has been designed by Zaha Hadid Architects where a bespoke version of the ACDC Vista, LED Linear product, has been specified by Maurice Brill Lighting Design. Used as a marker light to create a unique, design-lead feature of the exterior walkways, this will be supplied via and supported by ACDC’s local Turkish agent, Hi-Tec Aydinlatma.

The Avenues is Kuwait’s largest shopping destination, covering over 86,000sq metres, and the next phase has a large variety of ACDC LED products and several thousands metres of ACDC cold cathode lighting, specified by London-based BDP Lighting. ACDC LED luminaires are already located in other areas of this impressive project and as with previous phases, this final stage will receive extensive local support via local distributor, Bader Al Mulla.

And finally, the Presidential Flight project in Abu Dhabi is an exclusive area for the Sheiks and dignitaries of the Middle East in Amiri International Airport and thousands of metres of ACDC Dali dimmable cold cathode lighting has already been installed. Design & Build consultants, Lichtned based in the Netherlands continue to work closely with ACDC’s UAE agent, Cinmar Lighting, to add further cold cathode to additional areas of this project.

Whilst the Middle Eastern countries have seen prolific sales for ACDC over the past decade and show no signs of slowing, other key territories have also seen massive increase in project enquiries and are also proving their potential for continued growth. Ben also services these priority markets for ACDC, and he recognises that this move will also be hugely beneficial to these key partners. He explains; ‘locating to Dubai will almost "make the world smaller" in that all of my primary markets such as Morocco, India, Asia and Australia, will be much closer, allowing for greater response and flexibility in support to them’.
