The Vos Pad, Chelsea Harbour, London
ACDC Lighting, Lutron and Vos Solutions have come together to create the world's first fully dimmable and chromatically controlled RGB LED lighting apartment, The Vos Pad.
The Vos pad utilised several of the ACDC architectural lighting products based around the high brightness Luxeon LED. These units were integrated into the scheme to form smaller, longer-lasting and more energy-efficient light fittings than conventional products, reducing lifetime maintenance, and power consumption significantly.
LEDs are the only light source in this high spec flat in Chelsea Harbour with Atlantis used in-ground throughout the apartment to bathe the walls in coloured light. This compact waterproof fitting utilises the RGB LED’s to create intense colours without the use of inefficient filters or gels and is officially launched at 100% Design 2003.
The micro aluminium fitting Minicubeus was used in select locations in the bedroom and living areas, to create a stunning visual effect, utilising the incredibly powerful light output from the compact single Luxeon source.
The balconies of the Vos Pad were also unable to escape the LED bug with the IP67 Artemis used to offer totally independent colour change across the building façade.
This world first, and its commercial launch, have been made possible only through the innovative and research-led approach of ACDC who provided the technical expertise to make The Vos Pad vision of full ambient lighting control a reality.
